Pringles Grilled Beer Brat & Beer Can Chicken

Products circa: Summer 2025

A nice promotion done with Miller Lite beer.

Neither of these products contain meat products, so like is most often, they have to lean heavily on yeast and MSG instead.

Neither of them have a particularly meaty flavor, and instead rely on a mix of savory herbs and aromatics.  The flavor for both is fairly subtle and aren't memorable.  They're not bad, but not particularly good, either.  The Grilled Beer Brat has a particularly glutamatey/cheesy taste that approaches the taste of sausage.

It must be noted, however, that the Grilled Beer Brat variety has the distinct aroma of pork when you open the can.  No idea how they did that.

  1. Your point about the Beer Can Chicken being subtle rather than meaty rings true — the herbs and aromatics give a hint of grilled chicken without ever tasting like the real thing, which is why I find these meat-flavored crisps fun to try once but hard to crave again. The Brat note about that pork aroma on opening is fascinating, too; aroma does a lot of the work before the first bite. For a proper comparison, I usually check real fried chicken first for seasoning and value before judging a snack version, and I found the popeyes menu and prices page helpful for seeing how current chicken meals are priced. It makes the gap clear: a snack can suggest chicken, but it cannot replace the crunch, juiciness, and seasoning of actual fried chicken.
