Oreo Firecracker Pop

While not specifically targeted as a semiquincentennial promotion, it is certainly a seasonal release for Independence Day 2026.

I respect the attempt here.  Three different flavors of creme in a vanilla cookie, and each creme flavor corresponds to the three flavors of a "firecracker pop", more likely known as a rocket pop.  Indeed, all three flavors of creme are completely discernible here, though I would say the lemon is least of all.  The problem is that while not unpleasant, this cookie is just way too busy, in terms of taste.  In addition, per my personal tastes, the 3 cremes make the balance more akin to a Double Stuf, which is not my preference.

 Just a post dumping old pics that I never posted.  I don't have individualized reviews of these, but I remember especially that the Oreos below were very good overall.

Goldfish Peppermint Cocoa

 

Product circa: holiday season 2025

I'm not a chocolate peppermint, but these are great.  Why?  Because of the restraint with the peppermint.  These seem to be plain chocolate cookies, with a peppermint "seasoning" on them.  That's it.  And the deft touch from the food scientists ends up being very pleasant, in a way that has you keep reaching for more.

Reese's Oreo & Oreo Reese's

The meta shit here is really getting screwy.  The brands are getting cheeky with it, and I'm here for it.

Reese's Oreo - A Reese's cup, half of whose chocolate is "white creme" in the style of Oreo, with Oreo cookie bits embedded in the peanut butter filling.  While the white creme is likely just white chocolate, upon the bite I find that it really doesn't taste much different than the original peanut butter cup.  The Oreo bits add a nice crunch, but on the whole, this snack is perilously close to the taste and experience of the original.

Oreo Reese's - A completely different conclusion than the one above.  Allegedly regular Oreo cookies with a peanut butter filling that is mixed with Oreo cookie crumbs/dust, much like the Cookies & Cream Oreos of old.  As coincidence would have it, I just so happen to have regular Peanut Butter Oreos on hand to compare.  The cream for this product is not the same as the PB Oreos; both my tongue and logic would say that this product's creme is more like Reese's, which is to say crumbly and salty.  It feels softer and fattier as well.  Along with the Oreo crumbs, it's delicious, much better than the PB Oreos.  The cookie is where these truly stand out: they are more brittle and less crunchy than your average Oreo cookie, in a way that is very pleasing to eat.  I find myself reaching for more in a fashion that I don't do with regular ones.  This product is special. 

Waffles & Syrup Oreo

Fun!

The cookies here have an amped up vanilla plus a little other something that’s hard to detect.  The creme has a bit in the middle that’s flavored with maple sugar/syrup.  It’s a good attempt overall, but unfortunately, my personal tastes come into play, as I don’t love maple.

Neapolitan Oreo

Product circa: 2022

Really glad they decided to put all 3 flavors into each cookie sandwich.  That’s definitely in the spirit of the “big reaches” that Oreo usually pulls off.

This is delicious.  There’s something about all 3 cremes together that really result in something complex.  Add to that the slightly-cinnamon and tons-of-vanilla cookies, and in the end, this is a really special product.  This is one that they should make permanent.  And surprisingly, I'm not too bothered by the overload of creme, here.

Pumpkin Spice Oreo

Product circa: 2014 and intermittently after

Golden Oreo cookies with pumpkin spice-flavored creme.  Honestly, the flavoring here is probably the same bulk generic pumpkin spice flavoring used for every confection on store shelves that boasts the same name.  It’s lazy and, frankly, not stellar.

Key Lime Pie Oreo

Product circa: 2015

The green-filling-on-vanilla-cookie aesthetic alone is worth the trouble for this one!

Unfortunately, that’s where the novelty ends.  Natural citrus flavoring is inherently volatile, and cannot survive the industrial processing and shelf-life required for mass-produced snacks like these.

As a result, these are flavored with the same flavoring that you’d find in a lime lollipop, which really tastes nothing like lime, much less key lime.  It’s disappointing because the food scientists set out making this product probably knowing that their attempt would be a sham
 

Chocolate Strawberry Oreo

Chocolate cookie, chocolate cream, blob of strawberry creme in the middle.  Not bad, but the chocolate overpowers the strawberry.  With that said, the chocolate part tastes no worse than it always does.

Jelly Donut Oreo

Product circa: 2017

Oddly designed, this is a vanilla cookie with a blob of jelly inside the creme filling.  I believe the jelly is flavored with raspberry.  Anyway, these things are as delicious as they are novel.  Bravo! 

Mystery Oreo 2017 & Fruity Crisp Oreo

Mystery: This one was easy.  Upon first bite, it was overwhelmingly clear that it was flavored like Post Fruity Pebbles cereal.  The likeness is uncanny.  And also very odd paired with chocolate cookies.  But quite tasty overall.  The first of the Oreo Mystery flavors, if I recall correctly.

Fruity Crisp: Almost identical to the product above, these use vanilla cookies, which pairs much better with the cereal-accurate creme.  Absolutely delicious, and very novel.

Brownie Batter Oreo

 

Product circa: 2015

Simple: a chocolate cookie, with chocolate creme.  But the creme is somehow different than the regular Chocolate Creme Oreos that you can find; it’s darker, more sumptuous/unctuous??  It might even have some flour or flour-like flavor mixed in, like some cake batter products do.  Really good overall.

 

Choco Chip Oreo

Golden Oreo cookies with vanilla creme, both of which have chocolate specks in them.  The creme seems to have a bit of brown sugar added to it and, IMO, I think the cookies might have a bit of that as well.

Overall, really delicious.  Despite being an overall “vanilla” treat, the specks still make it taste notably of chocolate, and the brown sugar tint to it all really adds a hearty nuance.  These might be slightly better than the original Oreo, whether we’re talking about the original or Golden.

Caramel Apple Oreo

Artificial green apple flavor tends to be pretty rough for me, usually.  But somehow, here they really manage to make it work.  The caramel flavoring in the bifurcated creme mingles with the apple creme and is quite pleasant, in the end.

Candy Cane & Peppermint Oreos

As expected, these both taste about the same: simply, chocolate cookie with a peppermint-flavored creme.  Not bad, but I'm not a chocolate (pepper)mint guy.

Marshmallow Crispy Oreo

 

Product circa: Intermittently from 2014 to 2019

Golden Oreo cookies with a creme that tastes like the marshmallows you get in cereal, plus the addition of tiny Rice Krispies in said creme.

I ate opened this package four years after I bought them in 2019 and... they were fine.  But I can’t help look through my nostalgia glasses back to 2014, when I first tried these fresh.  They were incredible.  The cereal-marshmallow flavor went so well with the cookies, it was like a revelation.  The only way I’ll be able to know I’m not crazy is if Oreo every decides to revive this variety.

Strawberry Frosted Donut Oreo

Vanilla cookie with 2 types of creme: strawberry (with sprinkles) and… I can’t figure out what the 2nd one is.  I’ve deconstructed the cookies and tasted the odd, beige creme on its own.  It might be different from the original Oreo creme, but only barely.  Moreover, I can’t figure out what it’s supposed to be or represent.

Despite how ridiculous Oreo varieties can get, they almost always are in balance; this variety is not.  This is the most punishingly sweet Oreo I’ve ever tasted… it’s either worse than the Double Stuf or Triple Stuff ones.

Candy Corn Oreo

These have been released intermittently throughout the years.

Honestly, I’m really struggling to discern how much these are different than the normal Golden Oreos without them in front of me to compare.  It’s possible that the creme has a bit of caramel in it, but otherwise it’s just a delicious, perhaps vanilla-heavy Golden Oreo.

Oreo Coca-Cola (cookies, not soda)

It feels like I've been waiting forever for this exact product, but I'm dismayed to find that how Oreo has executed this is much more of an enigma than I expected.

The smell and initial taste is unmistakably cola, but as you keep chewing, you might be surprised to find cola's constituent flavors identifiable here.  Notably, I explicitly get cinnamon and lemon/lime, both of which are indeed in your average cola.

It's almost like I would have liked this more if I had gone in with a different mindset.  I expected a creme cookie that tasted like gummy cola candies, and instead I got a complex cola flavor, almost like those expensive boutique cola brands.  I'm disappointed in my own reaction.

Overall, an impressive product from Oreo, one that I never would have expected from them.

Oh yeah, it also has popping candies in the creme to emulate a cola's carbonation.  Those can fuck off.

I'm not going to buy them.  They look like a hybrid of the Oreo's The Most Stuf and their Cookies & Cream variety.  I'm pretty confident how they'll taste.  And I know most of its contents would go to waste.
