I'm not a cherry soda fan, really, but the sourness here is perfectly balanced with the sweetness that would otherwise be overpowering. This shit is good. If I see any residual 12 packs of this, I'm going to buy one.
I am not usually a cherry soda person either, but that balance of sour and sweet you describe is exactly what would win me over. The deep crimson color alone makes it feel like a fun, celebratory drink, and I can imagine it working really well at a birthday gathering. It also reminds me how much soda shops have leaned into birthday freebies and rewards lately, and Swig's birthday reward is a nice example of that kind of treat. I will definitely keep an eye out for any leftover bottles, just as you said.
